一个关于"until"的英语问题 帮帮忙啦

My uncle didn't marry until he was fifty. So his son is only ten years old now.
中据说是用的"not until"句型
Mr. Smith married until he was forty-five. 但是为什么这句中不用这个句型呢？希望可以说出相关知识点，谢谢

习惯用语
unless and until=until

第二个句子里的until就是直到的意思,可以和till互换.
不是所有的地方都要用not until啊,不是所有的句子都牵涉到否定啊.

这句话语法错了Mr. Smith married until he was forty-five
应该是Mr. Smith wasn't married until he was forty-five.
not ..........until直到........才

只能说你得去了解每个单词的不同用法。。。
